Kaweei Custom Wiring Harness Manufacturing: Capabilities and Process

Kaweei is a custom wire harness and cable assembly manufacturer based in Dongguan, China, serving customers across automotive, industrial, medical, communications and consumer equipment. This page describes what our manufacturing offers and how a custom harness project runs from first contact to shipped product.

Engineering Support Before Production

Custom harness work starts before the factory floor: our engineering team reviews drawings and samples, provides DFM feedback that removes cost and failure modes from designs (our DFM guide covers what we check), supports connector and material selection, and prototypes quickly for validation builds. Customers arrive with complete drawings, partial specifications, or just a sample and an application — all three start valid conversations.

Production Capabilities

  • Wire processing: automatic cut-strip-crimp lines with inline crimp-force monitoring, fine-gauge precision work, and full gauge range through heavy power conductors.
  • Terminations: crimp, solder, IDC, ultrasonic welding for high-current splices (our ultrasonic guide covers the method).
  • Connector assembly: the full industrial spectrum — sealed circulars (M8/M12), D-sub, heavy-duty rectangular, HV systems, board-level and consumer connectors.
  • Overmolding: in-house mold design and injection molding for sealed, strain-relieved, branded constructions.
  • Assembly operations: taping, braiding, sleeving, labeling, coiling, and complete harness forming on boards.

Quality and Testing

Quality runs on process control and data: 100% electrical testing with per-serial results, crimp monitoring evidence, hipot and insulation testing for power and HV classes, air-leak and immersion verification for waterproof classes, and traceability linking each assembly to materials and process records. Our quality system supports automotive, medical and industrial customer audits.

Industries Served

Automotive (low-voltage looms, sensor and charging assemblies), new energy (EV and storage HV harnesses — our HV guide covers the class), industrial equipment (control, power and sensor harnesses), medical (precision and energy-class assemblies), communications (data, RF-adjacent and network cabling), and consumer/accessory (branded cable products). Each industry brings its requirements stack; the manufacturing adapts to the stack, not vice versa.

How a Project Runs

  1. Inquiry: drawings, sample, or application description to our team.
  2. Review and quote: DFM feedback, material proposal, costed quotation with lead times.
  3. Prototype: sample builds for validation (our prototype guide covers the process).
  4. Validation: customer testing, design freeze.
  5. Production: scheduled builds with quality documentation per the agreed class.
